Lice or Pediculosis

After receiving the dreaded letter from school stating that lice was found
on your child or in your child's class, here are some things you can do:
Examine all your children for head lice or nits
 If lice are found, treat those individuals with a anti lice shampoo and remove nits
Some effective shampoos are:
 Kwell (lindaine), RID, R&C, A-200, NIX, Pronto
Also clean...
 combs, brushes, bedding, towels, coats, upholstery, rugs, jackets, and hats.



ACTIONS REQUIRED
Day #1
 Student infested with lice will be sent home
Day #2, 3, & 4
Upon treatment the student may return to school provided there are no live lice.
Student must be checked prior to going to class to ensure no lice are present.
Day #5
 Student must be free of all lice and nits to remain in school.
Additional checks
 Call 605-923-0060 to make an arrangement with the school nurse if your child was not cleared on the 5th day.
